Morgan Starr is a mother, wife, teacher, and writer. On most days, she can be found in her high school English classroom, encouraging her students to find their voices in their own writing, as well as finding inspiration for her writing from them. When not in the classroom, she spends her days with her children, with whom she hopes to help foster a love of reading and writing as well, but typically, she ends up serving as referee instead.
As the mother of three boys, all ages three and under, she has found writing to be a way to reflect on her own journey as a parent, to connect with those who have shared similar experiences, to encourage other mothers, and most importantly, to laugh and find a bright spot in the everyday situations that would otherwise drive a person crazy (like when she’s trying to break up a fight between the older two boys while still protecting the baby from them..).
Her work has been published on Scary Mommy, Mamalode, and a number of other websites, including her own blog, www.RookieMommyRaisingBoys.com. Topics of focus range from weight loss after pregnancy to humorous stories about her own kids to the tragedy of miscarriage, as well as many other topics. Her mission is to let other parents know that they’re not alone on this wild ride that we call parenthood, and if just one person is encouraged by her words, that’s enough.
